The Eden Project is one of Cornwall's most spectacular attractions and one of the world's most remarkable gardens. Located near St Austell, approximately 45 minutes from Ponderosa Caravan Park, this environmental and educational wonder is housed in massive biomes that recreate different global climates. It's a must-visit attraction that offers an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

What is the Eden Project?

Built in a reclaimed china clay pit, the Eden Project opened in 2001 and has since welcomed millions of visitors. The site features two enormous conservatories called biomes - the Rainforest Biome and the Mediterranean Biome - along with extensive outdoor gardens and educational exhibits.

More than just a garden, Eden is a global education charity that explores humanity's relationship with plants and nature. Through immersive environments, interactive exhibits, and stunning displays, it tells the story of our planet's incredible biodiversity and the importance of protecting it.

The Biomes

Rainforest Biome

The largest indoor rainforest in the world, this enormous structure reaches 55 meters high and maintains a humid tropical climate year-round. Inside, you'll journey through different rainforest environments:

The biome includes a stunning waterfall, a canopy walkway, and information about rainforest conservation. Expect warm, humid conditions - light clothing is recommended!

Mediterranean Biome

This biome recreates warm temperate climates from around the world, including the Mediterranean, South Africa, and California. Highlights include:

The Mediterranean Biome is cooler than the Rainforest but still pleasantly warm compared to outside.

The Outdoor Gardens

Don't overlook the extensive outdoor exhibits:
